Optional services are important! These services help dealers upsell and maximize revenue per quote and transaction.

After selecting tires, the customer will be directed to a page listing required services(ex. Environmental Fee) and optional services (ex. Seasonal Tire Storage).  Optional Services are an excellent opportunity to upsell and provide additional value to customers.  In this pro tip  we will briefly discuss how to create new services in TireConnect

Log into the TireConnect backend at  https://wl.tireconnect.ca/backend.php/  Once logged in you will be in the profile page.  You will see all feature tabs listed on the left hand side. Upon clicking on Services, you will be sent to that dealer’s Services Page.  On the service page click the new button / edit button on an existing service, the Service Editor Page will open.

Service Editor Page

Service Editor Page / Common Services & Description

Common services and fees: List of items that most dealers will use as additional charges alongside tire prices. Note: Selecting one of these items will only auto-fill the Description Section.  If a service/product/fee is not listed, a custom service can be created by leaving the drop- down blank

The Description Section is composed of numerous subsections.  These subsections include Type(Service [ex. Install and balance], Product [ex. Valve stems], Fee [ex. Tire Disposal]).  A subsection to fill in tax information related to the service.  And a information subsection to enter in details about the service’s name, service description and additional details.

Service Editor Page / Locations

This Section is for dealers with multiple locations,  single dealer can skip this section.

In the Locations section you can choose whether the service is applicable to specific dealership locations, or all of them.  In this section, you can also choose whether specific dealerships have a unique taxation rate on the service, or just use the default rate set in your settings.

Service Editor Page / Applies to

The ‘Applies to’ section of the service editor page allows the user to define what tires the service or product applies to.  The user can select that the service applies to: All tires, Tire Selector or Part Numbers.  Selecting ‘All tires’ will apply the service to all tires in the user’s inventory (see image above). Selecting Tire Selector from the ‘Applies To’ drop-down menu enables you to offer a service for specific tire brands and/or models (see image below).

Note: Brand is specific to the individual brand name. [ie. if Bridgestone is selected, only Bridgestone models will be included. No Firestones or Fuzions will be included and will need to be selected if applicable.  Choosing the service Applies to: Part Numbers involves uploading an excel file with specific part number and brand information.  Field mapping  involves stating which column is the brand column letter and which is the part column in the uploaded excel file (see image below).

Service Editor Page / Filters

In addition to being able to select whether the service being created ‘applies to’ all tires or specific tire brands(tire selector or part numbers options), there is an additional ‘filters’ section.  In the ‘filters’ section, you can filter by whether tire is a run flat or light truck tire, rim size, tire profile, year, and tire categories.

Service Editor Page / Price

Users have the option to price services based on a Simple rate, Tire-based, or Quote-based.  Simple rate involves charging a fixed dollar amount for a service, the simple rate can also be set to per tire (see image above).  The tire-based pricing rate can be based on Tire retail price, Rim size or Tire profile.  Pricing Ranges for tire-based pricing can be set, with the default rate being the single rate used if a range is not specified. Click the Add new range button to add an additional price range. Prices can be set as a fixed amount or percentage (see image below).

Quote-based pricing rate can be based on Total Tires, Total Services or Total Quote.  The quote fee subsection allows the creation of a percentage rate to apply based on a Total Tires, Total Services or Total Quote. You can also specify a fee range - minimum and maximum dollar amount the rate cannot exceed (see image below). Only a Fee can use this price type.
