Guide: Setting up Tire Pricing in TireConnect

This process allows you to define how your tire prices are calculated based on supplier costs using a "matrix" strategy (e.g., markups, margins, and price caps).

Step 1: Access the Pricing Section

  1. Log in to your TireConnect Admin Portal.

  2. On the left-hand sidebar, click on Pricing.

  3. From the dropdown or submenu, select Tire Pricing.

Step 2: Create a New Pricing Strategy

  1. Click the "New" button, typically found in the top-left corner of the pricing dashboard.

  2. Label: Enter a name for this strategy (e.g., "Standard Retail" or "Aggressive Summer Sale"). This label helps you identify the rule later.

Step 3: Configure Supplier Settings

  1. Suppliers: By default, the strategy may apply to "All Suppliers".

    • If you want this pricing to apply only to specific distributors (e.g., ATD, NTW), toggle "All Suppliers" to Off and select the specific suppliers from the list.

Step 4: Set Up the Price Matrix

The matrix defines your profit rules. You can create multiple rows to handle different cost ranges (e.g., cheap tires get a higher markup percentage than expensive tires).

  1. Cost Range (Low/High): Define the cost price bracket for the tires.

    • Example: Low: $0, High: $100. (This rule applies to tires costing between $0 and $100).

  2. Amount Type: Choose how you want to mark up the tire.

    • Percent (%): Adds a percentage to the cost price (e.g., 20%).

    • Dollar ($): Adds a flat dollar amount to the cost price (e.g., $20).

  3. Value: Enter the markup amount (e.g., 25 for 25% or $25).

  4. Min/Max Amount (Optional but Recommended for %):

    • Min Amount: Ensures you make at least this much profit (e.g., even if 10% is small, never make less than $15).

    • Max Amount: Ensures the price doesn't get too high (e.g., never mark up more than $100).

  5. Rounding: Select a rounding rule if you want "pretty" prices (e.g., round to the nearest .99).

To add more rules for more expensive tires (e.g., $101 - $500), click the "+" or "Add Row" button and repeat the steps above.

Step 5: Apply Filters

If this pricing strategy should only apply to specific brands or types of tires:

  1. Locate the Filters section.

  2. Select specific Brands, Models, or Seasons (e.g., apply this strategy only to "Michelin" or "Winter Tires").

  3. If left blank, the strategy usually applies to all tires from the selected suppliers.

Step 6: Save and Activate

  1. Review your settings to ensure the markups are correct.

  2. Click Save (or "Create") at the bottom or top of the page.

  3. Your new pricing strategy is now active and will calculate retail prices for your customers immediately.
